Little & Caine provide a complete personal service which extends from the moment you contact us, to as long as you need our assistance, which may be weeks or even months after the funeral. We will not put you under any undue pressure, as it is important for you to grieve in your own way. To this end we will provide emotional support for you and your family as you learn to cope with your bereavement.
In addition, we offer a range of specific funeral services. These are designed to aid the healing process during, and after, the day itself. If any aspects of the arrangements are unclear, please do not hesitate to ask; the most important thing is that your wishes, and those of the deceased, are carried out in the best way.
These are the most frequently-used aspects of our service, but if you would like to arrange anything else, please ask us and we will do everything we can to help. Our costs are reasonable and we can always provide a written or verbal estimate in advance.
Hearse/Bearers
These are an essential part of our service to you. Any necessary limousines, each seating 6 or 7 people, will be supplied depending on your needs.
Chapel of Rest
We have Chapels of Rest at each of our branches, providing you with a place to pay your last respects. We will always endeavour to provide you with lasting memories of a loved one at peace. Please note that visits to the Chapels of Rest are available by appointment only.
Floral Tributes
The serene beauty of flowers is a fitting way to express your love for the deceased, as well as bringing comfort to mourners. Many different options are available, and we are glad to discuss these with you. After the funeral, flowers can be taken to a destination of your choice, such as a hospital or nursing home, for others to appreciate. (Please note that there is no charge for this service, which is carried out at our convenience.)
Stationery
Service sheets and other memorial stationery, including remembrance books and appreciation cards, can be arranged if you wish. Please ask us for more details.
Donations to Charity
If you would prefer donations to charity instead of flowers, we will accept and list donations on your behalf and forward them to your chosen charity in due course.
Catering
A memorial reception allows mourners to share memories of the deceased in less formal surroundings. We can arrange a buffet at the venue of your choice.
Listing of Names
We can take names at the church or crematorium on your request, providing you with a lasting record of the attendees.
Monumental Masonry
Choosing a memorial stone can be as painful a process as the funeral itself, but this final tribute plays a key role in the grieving process. As a lasting tribute to the deceased, and a final gift to a loved one, it is an important mark of respect. The many options can be overwhelming, but the supportive and respectful staff at Mossops Monumental Masons (itself a subsidiary of Little & Caine) will make this process as straightforward as possible.
Cremated Remains
At this distressing time, it can be difficult to look ahead, but it
is important to realise the emotional benefit of having somewhere
to return to, even following a cremation rather than a burial. The
feeling that a loved one is "there" can be a great source of comfort
in the weeks, months and years to come.
Probate
Probate is the process of dealing with the estate of the deceased. We will offer you as much support as possible with probate; however, Lancaster Probate Service will be able to provide more in-depth assistance. Their address is:
